9 Instagram Features You Should Be Using

Instagram is the fastest growing social channel. It is of particular relevance to reach Gen Y and Z. Therefore, you need to use it right. So, here are 9 Instagram Features you should absolutely be using in your marketing strategy.

  1. Archive your old posts

The archive feature lets you keep your profile on-brand without permanently removing outdated content.

If you change your mind, you can unarchive it and it appears back in its original position.

  1. Add links to your Instagram Stories

If you have over 10,000 followers, you can add links to your stories. It’s easier than ever to direct people to your blog or shop.

  1. Disclose your paid partnerships

A Buzzfeed report highlighted that fact that 93 percent of top Instagram celebrity ads are not compliant with Instagram’s T&C’s.

Instagram has now introduced “paid partnership” options to posts.

This keeps you in line with their rules and allows viewers to see when content is paid for and what is genuine.

  1. Private collections

You can now save other users’ posts to a private collection…without them knowing.

This is a great way for businesses to track competitors or save user-generated content for easy reposting.

  1. Rearrange your Instagram filters

If you only use the one or two filters, you can hide, add, remove and rearrange the filters to make them more accessible

  1. Replay your live videos in Stories

When you post a live video to Instagram, you can now post it to your Stories for 24 hours.

  1. Stories

Stories are a great way to show the behind-the-scenes and more candid shots, whilst not disrupting your branding.

Users can search and view public stories in any geographic location, so make sure to hashtag or geographically tag your stories.

  1. Enable comment block filters

You can keep comments and discussions professional by using Instagram’s comment block filter.
